There are many different kinds of saunas and there are pros and cons for all of them. Here you will be able to read about the different saunas at Plugin and find help to choose which one to try. Or try them all and figure out which one you like the best. Either way you will learn how to distinguish the different ones here.
The barrel
The barrel sauna at Plugin is the smallest sauna in the zone with room for 12-14 participants. It is heated with a wood burning sauna oven and has one level seating.
Because they use a single layer of wood that acts as the interior and exterior surface, they don't have much insulation to keep in the heat and keep out the cold. The barrel sauna overcomes the lack of insulation by efficiently using space and convection to rapidly and evenly heat up.
The signature circular design keeps heat from settling at the top of the barrel. The hottest air inside is constantly created at the heat source. Due to convection, the hot air rises to the top. The less-dense air at the top of the sauna circulates back to the bottom, where it becomes hot again. The circular design of a barrel sauna means that the hottest air is constantly in motion, resulting in a steady, efficient heat throughout the interior space.
Panorama
Is the medium sized sauna at Plugin with room for 22-25 participants with two seating levels, which give you the opportunity to pick how hot the sauna feels for you, by where you sit. This is also heated with a wood burning sauna oven which has something undeniably authentic about it. The crackle of the firewood, the scent of burning logs, and the gentle warmth radiating from it offer an unmatched, traditional sauna experience.
Cabin saunas, with their larger size, take more time to heat up. But once they’re hot, their thick, insulated walls help maintain the temperature, allowing them to use energy more efficiently to keep the interior warm.
Colosseum
This is the biggest sauna at the Plugin zone. With room for 40-50 people, three seating levels and electrical ovens for heating.
Same as Panorama, Colosseum is a great sauna with thick, insulated walls that help maintain the temperature, allowing them to use energy more efficiently to keep the interior warm.
The electrical heating helps to heat up quickly and maintain a consistent and controlled heat.
The three levels makes it attainable for everyone to find a heat level that is comfortable. If you want the full, intense, high heat session, you can sit at the top level, but in the same saunagus, it is possible to sit at the lowest level if you do not need the highest temperatures.
